This is the first Saturday in a while that I have fought the urge to go out for brunch. The steady rain prompted me to invite the cuzzles over for waffles. (They could pick up syrup, I wouldn't have to leave the house.)

This morning's menu? Wholewheat waffles with pumpkin butter and Camp Maple Syrup. Cafe au laits and les chocolats. Some attendees requested chocolate chips, and I was happy to concede. The waffle iron was a great birthday present from a friend last year. The photos feature our French Press (a girl's best friend), as well as my new Italian coffee cups and saucers, picked up on clearance from a fabulous home goods store on Avenue A
